In the first round, Timberline swept through Lewiston 25-18, 25-21, 25-19. The 2nd Round pits the Lady Wolves against the Bonneville Bees at 4:00.
The ladies lost to Bonneville in 3 straight sets 15-25, 11-25, 14-25. But they fought back in the next match against Mt. View to win in 4, 25-19, 17-25, 25-22, 25-15. The win guaranteed a top 4 finish (and a trophy). They will play against Lewiston at 9:00 am on Saturday.
Timberline defeated Lewiston on Saturday morning in 3 straight sets (25-16, 25-22, 25-14).
And then defeated Madison in 3 sets, even after being down 15-23 in the 2nd (25-18, 25-23, 25-19).
This moved the ladies into the State Championship Match with Bonneville, the team that had defeated them the day before. Timberline fought hard, but ended up losing in three sets (14-25, 20-25, 16-25) and claiming 2nd place at State. Congratulations ladies on a tremendous season...only losing to 2 teams all year long.
Prior to the State Tournament match, the Wolves were presented with the State Sportsmanship Award. This is awarded to the team, coaches, and fans that are show the most school spirit and best sportsmanship during the tournament. This shows the character of our program. Nicely done!
